Established in 1986, Timespan has developed from a voluntary heritage group to become an award winning museum and arts centre located in Sutherland - the largest, but least populated county in Europe. Timespan comprises an award winning museum, contemporary art gallery, story-telling room, archive, IT suite, riverside café, shop and riverside garden of Scottish herbs and flowers. We have a year round programme of cultural events and regularly changing exhibitions.
In 2008 Timespan completed a significant redevelopment project which brought the museum and gallery up to the latest national standards and also added services and facilities for the community. As well as the redevelopment project, Timespan has developed and managed many successful arts and heritage projects.
Timespan has now secured funding from Creative Scotland and HIE to carry out an endowment appeal campaign in order to deliver a new long term core support mechanism by establishing an endowment fund; supported by individual patrons, corporate investment and trusts. Main Responsibilities of the Post

- Delivering the Timespan endowment campaign including planning and delivering the campaign on High Net Worth individuals, Charities, Trusts and Foundations, Corporates, public and statutory sources
- Establishing and maintaining working relationships both internal and external
- Working with the marketing services provider
- Overseeing the marketing materials production and information dissemination
- Managing all practical and logistical arrangements related to the appeal
- Managing the appeal budget in liaison with the Director
- Implementing evaluation techniques to ensure the project is on target to hit its core aims
- Resourcing and writing project status reports for funders and board
- Attending team meetings and other meetings, both internally and externally, as necessary;
- Taking reasonable care for the health and safety of self and others in the workplace in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974

ScreenHI is delighted to be supporting a Traineeship for an Assistant Editor on a landmark BBC ALBA documentary this year. It’s a fantastic chance for an ambitious and gifted individual who wants to progress in the industry as an Editor. Gaelic language would be a real advantage, but not essential.
The Assistant Editor placement will be based in Glasgow, at the production company Media Co-op. You will be working closely with a creative and award-winning Director and Editor, a fabulous chance to learn and to enhance your skills. Most of your work will be on a single BBC Alba documentary, but you will also work as Assistant Editor on some other short-form productions going through the company in the same period, and help with archiving and the maintenance of smooth-running post-production systems.
There is a weekly fee for the Trainee which works out at an annual salary of c£18k pro rata. Duration is 6 months continuous, from mid-June to mid-December 2012 and you will be an employee of Media Coop.
